GO! - A must-have burger: 3 or 4 stars SO-SO - Worth a visit, but there are better places out there: 2 stars NO! - Steer (no pun intended) clear: 1 or 0 stars
Rating Criteria
Meat: Juicy, should have same diameter as the bun and not be "chewy" - 1 star Bun: Soft, not soaked with grease and firm enough to hold condiments while eating - 1 star Condiments: Must not overwhelm the taste of the meat. Freshness must be apparent; for example, onions should be crunchy, tomatoes should be firm, lettuce should be crisp - 1 star if all of the above are achieved; 1/2 star may be given if some of these qualities are present. Texture: Every component of the burger (meat, bun and condiments) must be present in every bite - 1 star
I started this blog to document my life-long search to find the "perfect" burger (In-n-Out comes close!). I have discovered over the past several years that there are a number of excellent burgers that can be had in the Northwest, from the Canadian border in northern Washington State, south to Oregon's border with California, and to the far eastern border of Idaho. I will document my experiences in writing, provide the occasional review, and back it all up with photos. I welcome input and also reviews from others. Let the search continue!
